Conquer Online is a free MMORPG that uses the familiar Chinese mythology setting, with all the magic and kung fu that comes with it. The game already features several improvements in the shape of expansion packs.

Conquer Online presents itself as a 2.5D game, meaning that the characters are 3D but the game world is in 2D. This allows for some catchy visuals without demanding high system requirements. Other free MMO games use this technique are Eudemons Online and Ragnarok Online.

Conquer Online is a good game that manages to be simultaneously user-friendly and yet offer a consistent feature set. All the usual stuff is here – NPCs with missions to offer, guilds, character customization and more. It’s worth a try, although the 2.5D aspect may push away some players now used to the full 3D and beautiful visuals of games such as the similarly themed Martial Empires or Loong: The Power of the Dragon.
