There are quite a few details that you must know before diving into the list of best characters in Punishing: Gray Raven. As far as tier lists go, everything is a bit subjective, so it's not like you're going to magically find a recipe to destroy the Corrupted hordes without breaking a sweat.

There are three classes to choose from: Attacker, Support, and Tank. Obviously, your approach will change according to your preferred playstyle. Each class has a starting tier, but through gameplay alone you can evolve them and turn each one into its very own destructive powerhouse. The differences between them will be minimal, as long as you have devoted yourself to properly upgrading them.

Constructs have six ranks to promote through, such as Sergeant and Elite, each one slightly improving stats such as HP and ATK. It goes without saying that you must equip the best weapons for the character and use the skill points in a way that benefits your playstyle.

Finally, consciousnesses are extremely important for a great build, as they give your character buffs that, when combined in 2- or 4-pieces can make all the difference. Think of them as the artifacts from Genshin Impact, but instead they are memories of former characters.

The list is divided into S, A, B, and C tiers, and there may be a slight difference between Construct performance in other game modes such as War Zone, Phantom Pain Cage or Stronghold, but it ends up being residual.

A few considerations here to close this Punishing Gray Raven global tier list. Liv is a pretty good support character with healing skills and ranged damage, so she makes for a nice addition to any team – Lux is good enough to begin with.

The two existing versions of Lucia (Padma and Dawn) aren't exceptional, but you're starting with one and probably getting the other in your first gacha pulls. She can get the job done during the first few days, but is easily replaced by another Attacker character such as Karenina.

Speaking of Karenina – Blaster, her good mix of burst and AoE damage results in a compelling and destructive character, one that is versatile enough as to never leave you in a bad situation.
