Microsoft Flight crashes and burns (i.e. shuts down)

Approximately five months after release, Microsoft decided to shut down Microsoft Flight without previous warning. As usual with this kind of strategy, most of the employees who worked on the game at Vancouver were sacked.

Microsoft Flight is still available for download but from now on there will be no new content or updates. No specific info was released on the reasons for this decision, but it looks like Microsoft Flight was a complete failure. We can guess one of the reasons, if not the only one – the game was announced as free-to-play but it was incredibly slim in content, requiring large sums of cash to have a few more planes and terrains available.
