Allods Online developer Allods Team (who would have thought) just revealed a partnership with Obsidian Entertaiment for an upcoming free MMORPG called Skyforge. This game is in development since 2010 and while there’s not much to read or watch about it, the FAQ (in Russian) reveals that the game is indeed going to launch as free-to-play. There are 15 classes planned so far, it should be very different from Allods Online and the combat system should use the very familiar targeting system.
Obsidian CEO Feargus Urquhart said about this partnership something like this (after translating from Russian):
“Skyforge is a very interesting and promising project. I am glad that Obsidian Entertainment is involved in working on this game. I am confident that the cooperation with the Allods Team will be a great experience for all of us.”
There are no details on the specific role of Obsidian so far. Watch the video below (from 2012) to get an idea of how the game was shaping up.
