According to Daybreak Game Studio's Executive Creative Director Jens Andersen, PlanetSide 2 “is really struggling” right now. His words on a Reddit AMA revealed the state of this MMOFPS and we can't hide the fact that we weren't expecting the game to be struggling, both on PC and PS4:
“The game is really struggling, and it isn't just on PS4 to be honest, and we are actively looking at things that can try and help change that in the short term. I hope everyone will be open minded that in order for the game to have a bright future and be supported it needs to not only retain people but find ways to generate revenue to support the team's efforts.”
Daybreak is working on a new, unannounced title along with the three upcoming MMOs already known to public: Landmark, H1Z1 and Everquest Next. Could it be that the studio previously known as Sony Online Entertainment is spreading its reach a bit more than it is capable of?
