Although Steam is unofficially accessible in China, something that the Chinese government doesn't seem to be too fond of, Valve is going to make it official. To do so, they have reached an agreement with their current partner Perfect World Entertainment to release Steam in China. Valve and Perfect World Entertainments are partners since 2012, with the latter releasing and operating Dota 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in China.
Currently, the Steam store is available in China but with some features blocked by the government, such as the forums, inventories and other features. This move will bring more games to China through Steam China, but we're intrigued at how much this release will look like the original one, in terms of censorship and such.
There is no launch date yet, but we should have some developments in the coming months.
