Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios have just announced the next update for their free-to-play MMORPG Star Trek Online, and this is a really interesting one – it will follow the Star Trek: Discovery television series from CBS.
Age of Discovery is the name of the multi-part adventure that is starting this fall on PC with the release of the first episode, coming later to PS4 and Xbox One. Players will be able to create for the first time a Federation Captain from Star Trek: Discovery and join forces with Starfleet Academy Cadet Sylvia Tilly, voiced by Mary Wiseman. The update also includes two new Discovery episodes available to all characters, a new Task Force Operation to defend Starbase 1 and an expansion to the game’s Reputation System to Tier 6 that unlocks powerful new rewards.
Season 1 of Star Trek: Discovery is now available to stream on CBS All Access, and Season 2 is premiering in early 2019.
