The Battle Royale showdown is far from over and seemingly every week we get a new contender to the Fortnite Battle Royale / PUBG crown. Chinese giant Tencent is one of the most active in this genre, obtaining the PUBG license for China and releasing two mobile games based on the popular game: PUBG: Exciting Battleground and PUBG: Full Ahead.
But Ring of Elysium, previously known as Europa, is perhaps its most exciting project. This is a free-to-play Battle Royale game that seems to look and play a lot like PUBG, including the traditional dropping out of a plane onto a huge arena and the shrinking circle. The new map is set in a snowy mountain and there are vehicles to drive (jeeps, buggies, snowmobiles, boats…) in this treacherous environment. The simultaneous number of players seems to be locked at 60 per match, but the number could improve to the more enticing 100 players after a few months.
Ring of Elysium is already available in Thailand and Indonesia, with an English version coming soon to Steam. This will probably happen later this year, as the page is already live.
Take a look at the official trailer below and a long gameplay video that will give you a very good idea of the quality of Ring of Elysium – definitely not looking shoddy, for once.
