LINE Games, the publisher of Destiny Child, has just announced its line-up for 2019 and it is aiming for the global market. For a nice change, the selection includes both mobile games and PC games – could it be that some developers are finally seeing that this platform shouldn't be neglected in favor of mobile gaming?
One of the highlights from LINE Games is Uncharted Waters Origin, a sequel to a classic MMORPG about sailing and exploration, which was developed by Koei Tecmo. The new game is planned for Steam, Android and iOS, and it is likely to be cross-platform.
According to MMOCulture, Uncharted Waters Origin is a full-fledged MMORPG that runs on the Unreal Engine 4 and is developed by Motif, a studio that includes veterans from Nexon, XLGAMES and Netmarble. There are 200 ports to sail to, over 1,000 NPCs to meet and 4,000 discoveries waiting for the player, with 1,000 cultural items as well.
The release is planned for 2020 as to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the Uncharted Waters series. Watch the announcement trailer below.
