EA’s Apex Legends gets 2.5 million players and 600.000 peak in first 24 hours

Apex Legends player peak

Electronic Arts and Respawn's free-to-play Battle Royale Apex Legends is off to a great start. According to EA, the first 24 hours of this game saw 2.5 million players trying the game, with a peak of 600,000 concurrent players.

While there is no cross-platform play for now, there is interest in making it work. Future plans include new Legends, new game modes and the obvious focus on eSports.

Considering the great start for Apex Legends, it's interesting to see if this game will ever rub shoulders with Fortnite or PUBG.

Apex Legends was revealed and released on February 4, 2019, in a surprising move that I wish was mirrored by other developers – “hey, we have this game, and it's out today!”
