I have recently talked about Eden Rising and how developer Nvizzio Creations was planning on releasing two different editions: one entirely free and without microtransactions, and a second edition that includes more areas and other features.
Eden Rising has just launched on Steam and the first reviews are positive. This game puts an interesting spin on the tower defense genre, with an open world that spices up gameplay and an art style that is garish but accomplished. Eden Rising can be played solo, but also offers multiplayer co-op for up to 8 players.
The free-to-play Explorer Edition brings no microtransactions, offering a full gameplay experience. However, the Ascendance Edition that you can purchase for $24.99 adds more content including four additional areas, more sieges, armor dyes, extra bestiary mastery, and more.
A nice touch is that Ascendant Edition owners can share the extra features of their edition with friends who join their servers.
