New World of Dragon Nest trailer in ages shows open world, dungeons and more

It took its sweet time, but a new World of Dragon Nest gameplay trailer has arrived. It was Nexon Thailand that took the leap and we can finally see how this mobile MMORPG evolved since its original trailer, revealed way back in August 2017.

Spoiler alert: it's not terribly different, and not exactly thrilling graphically speaking.

As we have reported before, World of Dragon Nest is set in an open world. That is the first feature that is highlighted in the new video, along with tons of mounts – apparently, World of Dragon Nest won't lack mounts, with wolves, fluffy sheep and… er, scooters? Well, it's not like World of Dragon Nest is going to be the first game that asks for some suspension of disbelief – do you remember how Aion had cute, tiny cars?

Dungeons in World of Dragon Nest accept up to eight players in a party. The trailer shows some cool bosses, including one huge dragon, because… well, the hint is in the title. Saint Haven is the town where you get to relax with your fellow adventurers, and there are several life skills to indulge in. Fishing is the mandatory activity, but there is also gathering and soaking yourself in onsen, a a Japanese hot spring.

Siege War is where things get serious, with up to 200 players fighting at the same time. The battlefield is waiting for four teams of 50 players each to duke it out. Or you can skip straight to the Colosseum for some more restrained PvP action.

World of Dragon Nest is an action MMORPG with evading and counter moves, as well as combos. There are no classes, with the dual weapon system allowing you to shape up your hero and swift weapon switching.

While World of Dragon Nest was originally announced as a cross-platform mobile and PC MMORPG, the PC version was indefinitely delayed. Developer Eyedentity wanted to focus on the mobile version first, leading to this decision.

Nexon Thailand is publishing World of Dragon Nest in Southeast Asia, with Gamania handling publishing duties in Taiwan. A western release is yet to be announced, but it would be a shame if it didn't happen, considering the classic status of the first Dragon Nest game.
