If you loved The Last of Us and just can't wait to get your hands on The Last of Us: Part 2, hang in there. Apparently, the sequel to Naughty Dog's classic survival action game is launching in February 2020.
Until then, what can you do? Replay the original game several times? Watch the giraffe sequence over and over again while sobbing uncontrollably? Maybe not; maybe there's a The Last of Us Mobile for you to enjoy?
Well, yes and no. There is something called The Last of Us Mobile lurking in the dark corners of the internet, but this isn't an official game. In fact, it doesn't even look like a game – it's more of a fan experiment that looks crude in every way.
You get to control Joel while Tess follows you around. You shoot a few Infected, you run through deserted streets while feeling frankly underwhelmed by the whole thing. Joel uses a pistol and a rocket launcher, the latter with some impressive results as the Infected are blasted into the air. It definitely lacks Ellie, but I guess she wasn't worked in as of yet.
If this fan project showed more promise, Sony would probably smack it with a cease and desist in no time. As it stands, it's a curio that I thought was worth mentioning, but I won't leave a download link here. It's not hard to find the game, but it's up to you if you want to give it a go. After all, there isn't much to it right now.
The Last of Us Part 2, on the other hand, is shaping up to be incredible. Controlling an enraged Ellie in search of revenge sounds incredible, and it's clear that Naughty Dog isn't afraid of ramping up the violence and sexual controversy.
