Guild Wars 2 Living World The Icebrood Saga revealed, Heart of Thorns free for some

NCsoft and ArenaNet have just announced Guild Wars 2 Living World The Icebrood Saga, the latest chapter in the long-running series of episodic content.

The release of the prologue episode is planned for September 17, bringing a look at some of the new locations, conflicts and storyline. Episode one of The Icebrood Saga is scheduled to drop this autumn. Owners of Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire will get The Icebrood Saga for free, including the prologue Bound by Blood.

ArenaNet is offering the Guild Wars 2 expansion Heart of Thorns for free to every player who owns or purchases Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire starting today. If you already have Heart of Thorns, there are a few treats waiting for you: an Heart of Thorns Veteran’s Pack consisting of a Mordrem glider, “Vanguard” title, and a voucher that may get you one out of sixteen possible different gem store armor skins.

The Icebrood Saga introduces new features such as 10-man boss encounters called Strike Missions. You'll have to combine your best raid skills with the large-scale combat of a Guild Wars 2 event. New boss creatures roam the land, including a familiar face: Drakkar from the original Guild Wars. New masteries are also coming with Episode One and Episode Two.

Furthermore, NCsoft and ArenaNet have announced various partnerships. Here's what's in store for you:

• A 20th anniversary art book in collaboration with Dark Horse Comics. Launching in the spring of 2020, the art book will feature an expansive collection of never-before-seen concept art, production material, and creator commentary from the Guild Wars franchise 

• Guild Wars 2 Funko Pop! figures featuring fan-favorite characters. Aurene, Palawa Joko, and Rytlock Brimstone will be available beginning January 2020 

• New Guild Wars 2-inspired apparel from Hot Topic and Insert Coin. The clothing range features new t-shirt and hoodie designs  

• New Guild Wars 2 mouse pads and phone cases from Razer 

• A music streaming partnership with global entertainment and streaming service TIDAL that makes the original musical scores of Path of Fire, Heart of Thorns, and Living World seasons two, three, and four available for listening across the TIDAL platform.
