Update: The game changed its title to Ragnarok Begins.
Gravity had quite a strong presence at G-Star 2019, with a showing that consisted of Ragnarok, Ragnarok, and more Ragnarok games. While the majority is for mobile devices, one of the most interesting is for PC, and we spotted some Ragnarok Crusade: Midgard Chronicles gameplay to clear your doubts about it.
As we've mentioned before, Ragnarok Crusade: Midgard Chronicles is a side-scrolling 3D MMORPG, It surely isn't what fans of Ragnarok Online weren't expecting, but it doesn't have to necessarily be a bad thing.
Don't Miss: Ragnarok Crusade: Midgard Chronicles is the new Ragnarok PC MMORPG
The footage comes via MMOCulture, who managed to play a few minutes of Ragnarok Crusade: Midgard Chronicles during G-Star 2019. Now you can have a much clearer glimpse at the game, because for some reason Gravity isn't too inclined to release an official gameplay trailer – they aren't shy when it comes to showing cosplayers and presenters on stage, but trailers are yet to be released.
Ragnarok Crusade: Midgard Chronicles looks like a mix between Dragonica (Dragon Saga) and Dungeon Fighter. It's a side-scrolling game where you select your character between the classes on offer and dispense justice on the incoming mobs. It feels somewhat slow, although it could also be said that it has a weighty feel to it.
After traversing a forest, a village in flames, and a cave, you finally face the boss. This huge lizard-like voodoo thing summons fish archer creatures that you must take care of before focusing on the boss.
The Ragnarok Crusade: Midgard Chronicles gameplay demo ends with the hero being cheered upon by the relieved dwellers, the village magically rebuilt from the ashes in seconds. That's game magic, I guess.
There is no official Ragnarok Crusade: Midgard Chronicles release date yet, and a launch in the west is anyone's guess at this point. However, we'll keep on top of things to see if Gravity is planning on a global release.
