Besides, it is releasing as a standalone game, although Modern Warfare players will be able to see the mode in the game's menu and launch it from there. On the other hand, Warzone players have an option to purchase an upgrade to Modern Warfare, although how that differs from buying the full game as you normally would is yet to see.

There are rumors of 200 simultaneous players at launch in squad-based modes and a ping system similar to Apex Legends. Video Games Chronicle is inclined to believe that the definitive Warzone release date is March 10, 2020, based on an educated guess: Modern Warfare updates usually deploy on Tuesdays, and that's how they came up with that date.

On March 9, 2020, Activision officially revealed Warzone and confirmed the March 10 release date. All in all, this is great news for shooter fans, as another Call of Duty shooter is always exciting. Besides, it's a free game and hopefully it is going to bring top production values and shake up the somewhat stale panorama of the genre – there's Fortnite, Apex Legends, PUBG, and every other game seems to disappear in a cloud of dust.
