Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine, or Megaten, is a free-to-play MMORPG with a science-fiction theme, something that is still not very used when compared to the usual fantasy setting. It’s also a game that manages to be different in other aspects, such as a particular focus in story and character development, probably an heritage from the main franchise published by Atlus.

In Shin Megami Tensei Imagine, players step into the shoes of a Demon Buster, who not only gets to fight demons but also control them. Although initially the demons that we get to summon and help in combat are very weak and unimpressive, things soon catch up with more exciting and powerful creatures. Our actions are reflected in a moral alignment system, balancing between Law, Neutral and Chaos.

The visuals are not the strongest point in the game, far from it, but Shin Megami Tensei Imagine has some appealing qualities going for it. Players who enjoy the sci-fi theme should also try MMORPGs such as Argo Online and Bounty Hounds Online.
