Just like miHoYo's previous effort Honkai Impact 3rd and most online games, Genshin Impact is a work-in-progress. This means that the official launch is far from the end, quite on the contrary – this is when the development team starts working around the clock to add new events, characters, cities, and more. While this open world action RPG already offers several dozen hours of gameplay as it stands, it features only two of the planned seven cities: Mondstadt and Liyue Harbor. In this Genshin Impact main city guide we're going to share with you the names, elements, and architectural styles of the upcoming Genshin Impact cities.
What are the Next Genshin Impact Cities?
First and foremost, let's check the two cities, or regions, if you prefer, that are available since official launch. Mondstadt will be your first destination, a fairly small but charming city of German inspiration. The three windmills are a given for the town's element: Anemo (wind).
Your next stop is Liyue Harbor, clearly inspired by Chinese culture. This is a much bigger city than Mondstadt and it features some stunning architecture. The Lantern Rite event is one of the most beautiful things that we've ever seen in a videogame. The Liyue Harbor element is Geo (earth).
And now, here are the names of the upcoming Genshin Impact cities. This is based on info gathered from sources including the official manga or mentioned by NPCs in the game, and while it is susceptible to changes, it is likely reliable. We'll update the Seven Cities of Teyvat guide as we get new info.
ELEMENT | CITY | STYLE | ARCHON |
Anemo (Wind) | Mondstadt | Germany | Barbatos (Venti) |
Geo (Earth) | Liyue Harbor | China | Rex Lapis / Morax |
Electro (Lightning) | Inazuma | Japan | The Bakufu |
Hydro (Water) | Fontaine | France | God of Justice |
Pyro (Fire) | Natlan | – | Murata |
Cryo (Frost) | Snezhnaya | Russia | The Tsaritsa |
Dendro (Nature) | Sumeru | – | God of Wisdom |
There is an additional region called Khaen'riah, from where playable character Kaeya originates. However, it is unclear if this is a main region with its own element, or a smaller location within Snezhnaya.
This Genshin Impact main city guide will be updated as new regions are revealed.
