The new Corepunk game is a top-down MMORPG developed by new indie studio Artificial Core. Featuring a seamless open world, this game is set in an original universe where four entirely different cultures clash: cyberpunk, steampunk, dark fantasy, and science fiction.

It's an unusual mix that is bound to create a strong contrast in the environments that you explore, offering some very interesting sights that hopefully will make a cohesive whole. The classes seem diverse enough, stressing this mix of styles as you get to pick between an orc, a paladin, or a decidedly cheery bombergirl, dressed in tight shorts, among many others. You can expect all the traditional MMORPG roles to be fulfilled, which means that you'll be able to play as a tank, healer, support, and DD.

As a pure MMO, Corepunk allows for all the activities that fans are expecting. There's world exploration, trading, dungeons, and PvP content. A fog-of-war system provides an interesting twist to combat, especially against other players. You can surprise your rivals by ambushing them, or use other tactics that take advantage of this mechanic.

If you find that the characters move somewhat slowly by the announcement trailer, you can rest assured that there are mounts to speed up movement. Besides, there are various means of public transportation that should take you faster to your destination. Nonetheless, there is time for the devs to tweak character speed before the release date.

Regarding the art style, the Corepunk game design looks rife for comparison to Diablo, League of Legends, and Torchlight. You'll find choices that seem to take inspiration from these acclaimed franchises, providing a very interesting graphical style.

The Corepunk release date is yet to be revealed, but the devs are planning to run the open beta test by late 2020. The makers have expressed their contempt for pay-to-win, but by April 2020 have revealed the choice for a buy-to-play business model.
