With the Blue Protocol closed beta scheduled for late March 2020, Bandai Namco is already telling Japanese players what they should expect. Instead of the usual minimum and recommended standards, we are treated to three tiers of Blue Protocol closed Beta system requirements: low image, medium image, and highest image quality. We'll go through these requirements so that you can get a feel for what Blue Protocol is going to ask of your computer.

Despite its stunning anime looks, Blue Protocol isn't the power-hungry beast that some of you might expect. Most of its visually impressive style comes down to the art direction, providing a beautiful game that remains within reach of most players. During the second livestream, Bandai Namco has expressed that it isn't interested in supporting 4K resolution because it doesn't see how it would greatly benefit the game.

However, one of the most interesting reveals about the highly anticipated anime MMORPG concerns its monetization system. Many players were torn between buy to play and free to play, and Bandai Namco finally revealed the Blue Protocol business model. As it turns out, the Japanese studio is going for a free to play release with a season pass. While this may stir plenty of discussion over the perks and limitations of F2P, at least it allows everyone to play the game free of charge. As for the actual implementation of the system and how fair it turns out to be, we're not jumping into conclusions and prefer to wait for the official release.
