Rogue Company entered Early Access on PC as an Epic Games Store exclusive. According to many players, Epic's digital storefront still has a long way to go before being able to rival Valve's Steam. The constant deluge of free games is a step in the right direction, and the recent addition of an early version of achievements further proves the studio's commitment to the store. However, very few gamers are fans of digital store exclusives and that's why the Rogue Company Steam release date question occasionally pops up. When will you be finally able to play Hi-Rez Studios' new competitive shooter on Steam?

What is the Rogue Company Steam Release Date?

Hi-Rez and developer First Watch Games are understandably keeping quiet about the Rogue Company Steam release date. After all, exclusive releases come with a level of secrecy, so that players are left unsure about the possibility of seeing the game released in other digital stores.

Hi-Rez hasn't mentioned anything about Steam yet, but there is some hope. Many Epic Games Store releases turn out to be timed exclusives, which means that a certain game is eventually releasing on Steam sometime later. We can make out some sort of pattern from other timed EGS exclusives such as Journey and Metro Exodus. Sega's A Total War Saga: Troy will release on EGS first in August 2020, with the Steam release coming exactly one year later in August 2021.

So, this gives us hope for Rogue Company. Hi-Rez would have to be nuts to pass on the extra marketing and cash that comes with a Steam release, so we can speculate that the Rogue Company Steam release date is happening during the second half of 2021.
