Genshin Impact seems to be drawing attention left and right. MiHoYo's charming anime open world RPG has captured the hearts and minds of many players since it was announced last June.
Originally revealed to be in development for PC, iOS and Android, Genshin Impact is coming to PlayStation 4 as well. Sony Interactive Entertainment Shanghai and miHoYo have just announced the move in anticipation to China Joy 2019.
“This first collaboration between miHoYo and PlayStation will not only make it possible for us to introduce Genshin Impact to the console player community, but also attract players from other game platforms to PlayStation,” said Wei Liu, co-founder of miHoYo, during PlayStation Online Showcase in China. “We are currently optimizing our game's performance on PlayStation to ensure a smooth and wonderful gaming experience, and there will be some PlayStation exclusive content to enrich the gameplay. In short, we wholeheartedly look forward to this collaboration with PlayStation, and hope to hear any suggestions and feedback from PlayStation players, so as to make Genshin Impact a better game.”
Genshin Impact will be playable at China Joy 2019 from August 2 to August 5.
The official Genshin Impact PlayStation 4 announcement trailer below shows a few minutes of gameplay from Sony's console. Amber is one of the playable characters from Genshin Impact, of which there are 11 at the moment. She is your guide in this trip to Teyvat and ends the journey by giving you a glimpse of a new city where the Travelers will eventually roam to: Liyue Harbor. What a stunning place that seems to be.
Between Genshin Impact and Blue Protocol, there is a lot of great anime goodness coming soon. While we may have to wait several years before we can play Blue Protocol – Bandai Namco said that it has no plans for a western release at the moment – Genshin Impact's second closed beta shouldn't take long now.
