While it may be losing some of the momentum from the surprising launch, Apex Legends remains as a strong player in the Battle Royale genre. It was the sole responsible for Electronic Arts' financial boost this year and the studio hopes that it remains relevant.
How? By facing Epic Games' Fortnite Battle Royale in all fronts, including mobile devices. An earnings call this week mentioned this plan, something that should boost the franchise's revenues quite a bit.
Electronic Arts is also planning to self-publish Apex Legends in Korea, as well as taking it to China:
“We will update you on timeframes when those negotiations are concluded. The game offers an opportunity for us to build a direct connection with our players (in Korea), and we hope to be able to leverage this for other games.”
