The Aura Kingdom beta is certainly drawing very close (how many times have we said this already?) and since this is one of our most anticipated free MMORPGs, we love to hear news on it. This time Aeria Games released a new trailer focusing on the Eidolons, the guardian spirits that will watch our back in this anime MMO game. They're not a simple “pet” – non-combat pets and mounts are also part of the game. Instead, Eidolons are true battle partners who are able to combine with the player to form devastating combos, and they can level up too.
The best thing is that Eidolons try to behave as real companions, remembering our achievements and occasionally chatting about the bosses they have defeated with the player. Some of the more advanced Eidolons can also serve as mounts.
When you start the game, you can choose one of four Eidolons, but during the campaign you'll meet many more. A dozen should be available at launch with more to come in future updates.
Aura Kingdom (originally known as Fantasy Frontier Online in its Taiwanese release) will be a free-to-play MMORPG and we're hoping for the beta to begin before the end of the year, but that's just our prediction.
