Pearl Abyss has finally confirmed the North American and European release of Black Desert Online and revealed the publisher for these territories. Just as the studio teased, it is a familiar name. While players were left guessing which one it would be, the reveal is somewhat surprising: it is Daum Communications, the Korean publisher that is already publishing Black Desert in Korea. Daum is a web portal in South Korea and is in the games publishing business since 2011, having the rights to PlanetSide 2 in this country.
This confirmation ends the rumors of a Western Black Desert version, following deals in Japan and Russia. The development of an English client was a sign that the game would most certainly get a Western release.
The third Korean closed beta is scheduled for the end of August 2014. If you want to learn all there is to know so far about this game, read our Black Desert second closed beta impressions.
