NCsoft has revealed the official Blade and Soul Unreal Engine 4 update release date, for Korea at least. After the initial trailer that claimed in-game footage but looked a lot like a CGI video, Blade and Soul Complete has a new and very brief locations trailer.
The graphics overhaul is notorious, but if you want to be picky you can complain about the object pop-up and a view distance that isn't impressive. However, these are small quibbles when you get to play Blade and Soul running on Unreal Engine 4.
The release of the BnS Unreal Engine 4 upgrade is scheduled for December 11, 2019. However, it will be a phased launch, as NCsoft is teasing a second part at a later date. This is the gist of it, but there is more to the update, as the official page details – there are several new Blade & Soul UE4 screenshots as well, showcasing locations that aren't featured in the trailer. You can also expect new characters coming with this update.
In a few days, NCsoft is going to reveal more info and new trailers on this update. We'll keep you up to speed with what is coming, especially because the Unreal Engine 4 upgrade is also coming to Blade and Soul North America and Europe in 2020.
This Blade and Soul update was first revealed in May 2018 and NCsoft released some exciting footage in March 2019. Watching those short seconds nowadays still makes us think that there was some tweaking to make it look the best that it could, especially the characters and effects. If the game turns out to look as good as this concept video – let's call it that -, then we are in for quite some stunning fantasy martial arts action. We shall see in about a week.
