Stop the press! After many years of waiting and many fans actually giving up all hope, NCsoft has just announced the upcoming release of the martial arts MMORPG Blade & Soul in North America and Europe! The game is going to launch in English, German and French and will be free-to-play! Pardon us for the excessive use of exclamation marks, but it is what many years of complete silence and plenty of hype did to us!
Anyway, the Blade & Soul western closed beta is planned for this fall, while the launch is expected during the winter. A Blade and Soul Twitch livestream is planned for tomorrow, Thursday 5/21, at 10AM PDT/5PM UTC, when NCsoft is going to reveal more details about the launch and show pre-alpha gameplay.
The Blade and Soul team didn't forget about the many fans: “Finally, a big thank you to all the dedicated fans who have supported Blade & Soul coming to North America and Europe. We have spent a lot of time ensuring that we bring the best version of Blade & Soul to the West and we hope you’re as excited as we are to begin our journey in this incredible world.”
The western version of Blade & Soul is going be a bit behind from other versions (the game is already available in South Korea, China, Taiwan and Japan, where it is mostly a success), but the team promises that it will already “include lots of the updates and improvements from other regions already in-place at launch.”
Looks like this Reddit reveal about Blade & Soul being in a family and friends beta turned out to had some truth to it, after all! You can and should sign up for updates on the official website. Here's the all-new, 2015 Blade & Soul trailer.
