Playa Games has just unveiled its Gamescom 2018 line-up, which is comprised of two games: Clash of Empires: Shakes and Fidget and Shakes and Fidget Remastered, both playable at the trade show from August 21 to 23, and with releases planned for later this year.
Clash of Empires is a new strategy game set in the comical cartoon world of Shakes and Fidget. This is the first time that the popular comic will be adapted into a 3D world, offering a cross-platform game with plenty of humorous touches and in-depth gameplay; Despite the cartoon focus, it is described as an ambitious strategy game as well.
As for Shakes and Fidget: Remastered Version, it is an update of the original MMORPG released in 2009 and that has over 50 million registered players, with an interesting player base after all these years. The Remastered Version will bring the game to the Unity Engine and WebGL and will include many completely redrawn graphics and optimization for high-resolution 4K and Retina displays. A new interface and apps for Android and iOS are also part of the package.
The Shakes and Fidget comic had a point and click adventure in development, but the Kickstarter wasn't successful and the project is apparently dead.
