Black Desert Online developer Pearl Abyss is about to shed some light on its next huge MMORPG, Crimson Desert. While the last name may hint at a connection between this game and Black Desert, both games are probably entirely unrelated. While the platforms weren't revealed, the Crimson Desert game is almost guaranteed to be in development for PC.
Crimson Desert presents itself as an open-world MMORPG, and the action unfolds in an epic fantasy world, something that could be said about Black Desert as well. The similarities don't stop there, however; this MMORPG is also boasting action combat.
This MMORPG is in production since 2018, incidentally the year when the game's trademark was first spotted. Jason Jung, former Game Design Director on RYL Online is in charge of the upcoming game, with the help of Dae-il Kim, the founder of Pearl Abyss. The combat system is being developed by Eter Lee, former Lead Combat Designer for RYL Online and C9.
The first Crimson Desert game trailer is going to be revealed on November 13 20:00 PST / 23:00 EST, serving as the appetizer for G-Star 2019. The official website is live and you can register for updates.
Pearl Abyss is also revealing its other projects during the show, including cartoonish and family-friendly MMORPG DokeV (Project V), MMO shooter Plan 8 (Project K), and battle royale game Shadow Arena.
