The Dauntless official launch is finally coming after what feels like an eternity of content and improvements. With over 15 million players during Early Access, Phoenix Labs' co-op action RPG is a clear case of success and unabashed vision.
The Dauntless 1.0 update comes with the largest seasonal expansion yet, Aether Unbound, adding a new weapon (the Aether Strikers), Behemoth, Hunt Pass, Bounty system, and more.
“Today is the celebration and culmination of the past five years of the development of Dauntless, and the amazing community of Slayers that have supported the game, provided feedback and ultimately helped us craft the experience of the Shattered Isles.” said Jesse Houston, Phoenix Labs CEO and Co-Founder. “As we cross the 1.0 milestone and 15 million players, we as a studio could not be more excited to set our sights on the future of Dauntless.”
With the Dauntless official launch done, the game is now available for free on PC via Epic Games Store, Xbox One, and PS4, with full cross-play between these platforms. A Nintendo Switch release is also in the works, planned for late 2019.
