Monster Hunting Dauntless enters open beta on May 24

The time is finally coming. That time when the co-op action RPG Dauntless is going to enter open beta and get an influx of new players ready to slay behemoths with their friends.

Phoenix Labs has just announced that the Dauntless open beta begins on May 24, and this is also the day when this monster hunting game will make the switch to free-to-play. During the closed beta, over 100K players have explored the Shattered Islands and slain tons of behemoths, while another 700K players signed up for the open beta.

Phoenix Labs is made up of industry veterans from Riot, BioWare and Capcom and wants to turn Dauntless into a huge game, filled to the brim with exciting features and content that will always feel fresh. Judging by Dauntless' roadmap, they are keeping up with these promises. The studio also promised that the in-game store which is available with the open beta will provide diverse cosmetic and vanity items, but in no way Dauntless will include any paywalls or pay to win mechanics. Loot boxes in any forms are also out of the equation.

Dauntless is in development for over four years, with the closed beta live since September 2017. You can purchase a Founder's Pack to further support the game, and the download is available at the official Dauntless website.
