Free Game Alert: Supernatural teen thriller Oxenfree is the next freebie on the Epic Games Store

Let me make this clear: you would have to be completely nuts not to play Oxenfree. Either that, or you loathe games that have incredible stories, deep and mysterious characters and supernatural elements that will send shivers down your spine. And for free? Come on, you have to be crazy!

Oxenfree is the next free game coming to the Epic Games Store. It's still a few days away – you'll be able to get it from March 21 until April 4 – but it's worth mentioning right now.

This indie hit was released early 2016 by Night School Studio, who is currently working on Afterparty, a similar side-scrolling adventure. This time it's about two millennials who died and went to hell, having to outdrink Satan to return to life. It sounds a lot more goofy than Oxenfree, and I can't wait for it.

So, Oxenfree is a game that I don't want to spoil to you, but I loved playing it – I felt amused, seriously creeped out and utterly surprised during most of the playtime. It may take a while to get going, but once it does, you are in for one hell of a ride. It's a game with layers of depth, hidden meanings and all that stuff. The brilliant dialogue system will force you to quickly react (or not), just like real people do – miss the window of opportunity and things will be left unsaid, steering the conversation in different directions. There's some amazing voice action, and that soundtrack is as spooky as they come. Can you already tell that I loved Oxenfree?
