Nearly eight years after first launching, ArenaNet and NCsoft have announced a Guild Wars 2 Steam release. Currently celebrating its eight anniversary, you can expect this game to launch in Valve's store this November. The third expansion, End of Dragons was also revealed, with a release set for 2021.
One of the best MMORPGs ever made, there are rumors that the studio has been seriously considering development on Guild Wars 3, but there's nothing official yet. In the meantime, you can look forward to Guild Wars 2 on Steam, where it will be joined by its two expansions Heart of Thorns and Path of Fire, as well as the whole Living World content. The Guild Wars 2 Steam page is already available.
The End of Dragons expansion is going to take players on a journey to Cantha, the mysterious island nation in the south that has been neither seen nor heard from for over 200 years. You can watch the teaser trailer below.
“Guild Wars 2 has endured for the better part of a decade because of its innovative gameplay, rich storytelling, and passionate fanbase,” said Chauncey Gammage, Chief Operating Officer, NCSOFT West. “As the game’s incredible fantasy world prepares to grow once again with the End of Dragons expansion, we are excited to bring this universally acclaimed gaming experience to Steam users around the globe.”
To celebrate the eight anniversary, the Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire Standard and Deluxe editions will be 50% off starting today until September 4.
