Crytek just announced another upcoming game, a few days after revealing Arena of Fate, the fantasy meets history MOBA from Crytek Black Sea. This time it's Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age, a four-player co-op online shooter developed at Crytek Games, a studio comprised of ex-Vigil Games employees, developer of the two first Darksiders games.
Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age is set in the 19th century and is a third-person shooter where up to four players (just like in Warframe, Left 4 Dead or the upcoming Evolve) will go blasting nightmarish creatures within a procedurally generated environment that will guarantee no match is the same, no two fights will look the same. The four characters visible in the announcement trailer are up for grabs and they can be customized as you go, as well as the different weapons.
David Adams CEO of Crytek USA and former CEO of Vigil Games said: “In Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age, players will be counting their bullets and crying out for help as they delve deeper into the shadowy world we’ve created. From the outset of the development process, we’ve poured our imaginations into the game so that everyone who plays HUNT will discover a challenging experience that feels fresh, captivating and rich in possibilities.”
Hunt is coming to PC and undisclosed consoles and is going to be a free-to-play game, something understandable due to Crytek's announced free-to-play future, and the game also uses the GFace platform, the same as Warface. The PC closed beta is scheduled for later this year (official website is here) and more details will be unveiled during E3 2014.
