Riot Games is the studio best known for League of Legends and as we mentioned in this top 10, they are also known for a handful of nothing else. Sure, there are rumors of a League of Legends fighting game and we've heard about the possibility of a collecting card game based on… you guessed it, League of Legends, but no real sophomore game yet.
But when Riot Games co-founder Marc Merrill tweets something like this, the Internet stops and listens (and also throws a few jabs at the studio):

By ‘MMO' we're assuming he means ‘MMORPG', as in World of Warcraft or The Elder Scrolls Online. League of Legends is often called an MMO, so Merrill's question wouldn't make any sense anyway. Of course, everyone is already jumping to conclusions and assuming that this MMORPG would be based on the League of Legends universe and characters, but who is forbidding Riot Games from creating a new, independent IP?
Either way, it sounds like an interesting pitch, and I'll be damned if I don't want to see Riot Games developing other stuff beyond LoL. What do you think of the idea?
