Take this one with a grain of salt. In fact, take this with the full salt shaker, as the source is unverified, but it surely makes an interesting case about the English version of MapleStory 2.
As you may know by now, Nexon America has spilled the beans on a North American launch of MapleStory 2, but here we are in 2018 and there is no sight of an official announcement. Being over a year without any news on this, I decided to go and search for any updates, and discovered that one Reddit user, Spadow, seems to be leaking some English MapleStory info, although in small quantities.
The latest update even included nearly 200 samples of English voices and music, making quite a strong case for the hypothetical release. Spadow isn't too keen on sharing his sources, but he says that the leak doesn't come from any secret files in the Korean version, and that it comes from a “separate” source. When all is said and done, this could mean that Nexon is indeed working on translating MapleStory 2 for the English market, with the game already being in open beta in China.
