Embark Studios is a new developer founded in 2018 by former Electronic Art's executive Patrick Söderlund. Apparently, Nexon liked so much what Embark had to show that it decided to throw some money at them.
And now, they said “what the hell!” and invested even more cash in Embark Studios. Now, Nexon has a majority stake of 66.1%, turning Embark Studios into another subsidiary (thanks MMOCulture).
Embark Studios is currently working on a free-to-play co-op action game set in a distant future. It's about teamwork and survival, and it's powered by Unreal Engine 4. The environment test video looks amazing and I'm dying to see if the game looks anything like that.
