Not happy with having a ton of studios and partnerships with developers such as Electronic Arts, Nexon is investing in a new software house.
CWavesoft, developer of the side-scrolling MOBA Hyper Universe, is getting an investment from Nexon, giving the South Korean publisher preference for licensing rights for the studio's next three games. Of course, it's too soon to know any kind of detail on these games, but we're betting they're some kind of multiplayer affair. Maybe they will even throw a mobile game or two in there – let's hope not.
Hyper Universe is a pretty decent and fun MOBA that is currently on Steam Early Access for $15,99, with a free-to-play launch planned for early 2018. This game desperately needs more players, as the current player base is on the smallish side and this kind of game needs a live community to support it. Just hurry up with it, guys!
