Grinding Gear Games has just revealed the eagerly anticipated Path of Exile 3.5.0 Expansion. Titled Betrayal, this expansion was said to be “larger than the Bestiary, Incursion or Delve releases”, which makes perfect sense considering that it includes these last three expansions into it.
Betrayal is mostly about Jun Ortoi, who is investigating this mysterious organisation known as the Immortal Syndicate. It's up to the player to help her take down this organisation through any means. There are eighteen Syndicate members, each one unique, each one with his personality, friendships and rivalries. You will have to bargain, execute, interrogate and even induce them to betray each other, fiddling with this interwoven “police board”, with pictures connecting by strings revealing their intricate relationships. The objective is to raid the Captain's safehouses to pillage their supplies and discover the identity of the Immortal Syndicate's mastermind.
No matter your decisions, you will always be progressing towards your ultimate goal. There is plenty of backstory to the Syndicate members, so it's advised not to rush through it.
There is a lot more to this expansion, so you're advised to take a look at the official Betrayal page for more details. Path of Exile is coming to PlayStation 4 on December 7 and is going to include the Betrayal expansion.
