PUBG has a free-to-play version with lower requirements coming

PUBG Lite free-to-play

With Fortnite dominating the Battle Royale scene and PUBG trailing behind, Bluehole has to do something to regain some of the players lost to Epic Games' ‘Dance-Dance-Royale'.

Being free surely doesn't play a minor part in the success of Fortnite Battle Royale, and now Bluehole seems to be working on a free version of PUBG. Not only that, this version is also going to be playable even on computers with lower specifications. A free-to-play PUBG Lite, to sum up things.

Development on this version started in October and it is now available as a beta in Thailand. It isn't uncommon to see some test launches in Thailand that eventually find their way to markets in the rest of the world, and this is apparently going to happen with PUBG Lite, according to Game Informer.

For now, PUBG Lite only has one map, Erangel, supporting solo, duo and squad modes. More content will be added further down the road.

We'll have to wait for an official announcement concerning a release in other regions. Take a look at the official system requirements:
