Rumor: Carbine employee says Wildstar is going free-to-play in August

He added that the game will go down the Freemium route and won't be pay-to-win, with a hybrid model similar to many other MMORPGs. Wildstar should also appear on Steam by the end of 2015 or January 2016 (“before the China launch that's for sure.”), and Carbine is also trying to get it installed on Steamboxes.
