Spec Ops studio reveals battleship combat game Dreadnought

Dreadnought developer Six Foot lays off

Spec Ops: The Line developer Yager is working with Grey Box on a new and completely unusual game called Dreadnought. This is a free-to-play space combat game featuring colossal battleships in slow-paced and tactical battles, most likely as in World of Warships. Yager built a reputation in space sims before venturing in the acclaimed third-person shooter Spec Ops: The Line, so while the pace may be different, the German studio knows what it is doing, as Mathias Wiese, Art Director and Yager Co-Founder said:

“Dreadnought harkens back to the PC space combat game we developed when we first started out. In the years since, we’ve been developing and testing some incredible ideas that now perfectly come together in Dreadnought. Grey Box has been an amazing partner and we’re incredibly thankful they share our vision for what Dreadnought will become.”

Dreadnought runs on the Unreal Engine 4 and it shows in the first gameplay video below (there's also a teaser), filled with special effects and the gargantuan ships that you'll be able to control. The official website is open and the public test is planned for 2015.
