Square Enix has just announced Final Fantasy Digital Card Game, a free-to-play CCG aimed at fans of the popular series. Currently planned for Japan only, it will release on PC, Android and iOS during 2019.
Final Fantasy Digital Card Game will run on Edge, Chrome, Firefox and Safari on PCs, but apparently users of Internet Explorer are out of luck, as this browser isn't supported. Time to move on, guys!
A closed beta is scheduled to run for a week, from January 18 to 25. You can sign up here and hope that you are one of the 10,000 players that will be selected. You can visit the official website to take a look at some cute pixel-art Final Fantasy characters moving around.
Final Fantasy Digital Card Game offers turn-based card battles featuring retro-styled illustrations of popular characters from the Final Fantasy IP. Both players make their moves simultaneously, so it's a matter of guessing how your rival will react and predict his movements within the time limit.
There is no word on a western release of Final Fantasy Digital Card Game.
