You can order your Star Trek Online 3D printed starship in March

If you ever wanted to see your Star Trek Online starship in your shelf, then this is right for you: soon you'll be able to do so!

Perfect World Entertainment has just announced a deal with Mixed Dimensions to introduce custom 3D handcrafted starship collectibles from Star Trek Online. This March you'll have the option to pick your ship from the PC version (there are over 500 starships) and order a customized, 3D-printed, hand-painted model to be delivered directly in your home. Pricing is yet to be announced.

The ships will be brought to life through Mixed Dimensions’ GamePrint technology, which combines their proprietary 3D printing solution with the hand craftsmanship of the Mixed Dimensions team of master artists. The process involves uploading your ship model to the GamePrint web site, and choose one of several options. You can commission one of the company’s master artists to hand paint a 12” resin high-end collectible version, order a single-color version or a primed model that allows you to paint the starship yourself.

This is quite exciting and I'm pretty sure that Star Trek fans will definitely jump at the opportunity. Other games should do the same thing!
