Update:
Perfect World has announced that the Star Trek community has successfully raised nearly $75,000 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
Original story:
Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios have just announced the official launch of Star Trek Online: Awakening on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Starting today, you can engage in new adventures featuring Anthony Rapp from Star Trek: Discovery as the voice of hologram Lt. Commander Paul Stamets.
The Awakening update is available on PC since September and brings a brand-new episode, five new patrols, a new task force operation, a new Mycelial Event, new starships and more.
Star Trek Online is celebrating the launch of Awakening on consoles and the Breast Cancer Awareness Month by teaming up with Groupees.com. This partnership plans on raising money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, so if possible, don't forget to make a small donation for a huge cause. You can learn more about this partnership on the official Star Trek Online website, but it goes like this: any player who purchases a STO bundle featuring in-game times (including pink Tribbles and T6 starships) sees 85% of gross sales (up to a maximum donation amount of $75,000) going toward the foundation. You'll also be entered for a shot at winning prizes from Tribble Toys.
