DC Comics Super-hero MOBA Infinite Crisis is going to shut down on August 14, 2015, Turbine has announced. This comes as a huge surprise since this game just launched a couple of months ago, after nearly two years in beta. Infinite Crisis is still available to play until the closing date, but if you haven't tried it before, it doesn't look much appealing right now.
As usual, the reason for this decision is tied to the small audience, as Art Director Floon expressed in the official forums:
“No one is more disappointed than the dev team. The project faced a lot of development challenges, both technical and design, and the team learned a lot and grew strong tackling all of them. Unfortunately, as the MOBA market matured around us as we were building the game, we simply couldn't find enough of an audience.”
Infinite Crisis was a fairly good MOBA but the heavy competition ultimately took its toll. We surely weren't expecting it to close so soon, but we hope Turbine has better luck on its next project.
