Developer Nuked Cockroach has released its 5v5 shooter on Steam. Veterans Online launches worldwide a couple of days after Amazon's Crucible release, but the two shooters couldn't be more different. This top-down action game feels like a genuine throwback to 16-bit times, when you played these twin-stick shooter games with a few friends for fun. This doesn't mean that Veterans Online doesn't keep up with the times, as it comes with all of the competitive intricacies of the genre.
Teamwork leads to victory, but so does a clever use of a vast arsenal. There are three game modes, characters are fully customizable from head to toe, and Veterans Online launches with Twitch integration on daily missions. This means that you can choose whether to play and stream or watch a streamer perform missions, earning in-game currency to purchase upgrades for your character.
