Third-Person shooter Spacelords is now available as free-to-play

Just as announced in July, the third-person shooter Raiders of the Broken Planet is now free-to-play on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Steam and Windows 10 and rebranded as Spacelords.

Developer MercurySteam is now offering the four available campaigns for free as well as future campaigns, with over 70 unique weapons and over 500 Character Cards to customize. If you are a Raiders of the Broken Planet veteran – meaning that you have purchased the game – then you get a free Elite Skin for every campaign that you purchased. New content is promised for the following months, including characters, weapons and skins.

The trailer below is meant both as an homage to veteran players as well as an introduction to the just released fourth campaign, Council Apocalypse, which concludes the first story arc of Spacelords.

Also, a new character called Valeria Robespierre was just released. She sounds just like the girl everyone wants to marry, particularly the “deal a whole world of pain” part, according to her official description:

“Valeria is heir to an immense legacy of riches and power, Valeria is the daughter of a wealthy patron who is financing the expedition to the Broken Planet. Using her vast family fortune, she designed and custom built this new powerful combat chassis to protect herself from the planet’s many dangers. Inspired by her beloved collection of dolls, this suit sole purpose is to deal a whole world of pain to any who dare cross her.”
