It seems that not even the free-to-play games based on popular franchises are making it these days. Borderlands Online was canceled in 2015, and now the same fate has befallen Titanfall Online.
Nexon was developing this Titanfall spin-off as one of several agreements with Electronic Arts. The South Korean studio also has deals for Need For Speed Edge and FIFA Online as well. Titanfall Online was still in its closed beta phase, and was officially announced about three years ago.
While Titanfall Online tried to bring something different to the franchise, Nexon decided that they should move the development teams to another project. This game would never make it to western territories, but seeing it being canceled in South Korea is still surprising, after three years of work.
