Perfect World Entertainment is going to show Torchlight Frontiers firsthand during Gamescom 2018 in Germany, and Echtra Games, the studio developing this game was founded by Max Schaefer. Schaefer reveals a little bit of what players can expect of this recently announced action RPG, the third one in the Torchlight series and the first one not being developed by now-defunct Runic Games.
Max Schaefer says that the demo will be “just a taste of the world of Torchlight: Frontiers”, with two character classes and a quick adventure that culminates with a boss fight. Attendees will be able to try the combat system and find some loot. Torchlight Frontiers is a shared-world game and Schaefer says that this idea was always in their minds. As for the control method, Torchlight Frontiers will be available to play with controllers or a keyboard/mouse setup, the latter being Max Schaefer's personal preference.
Sadly, in this “interview” there aren't any news on Torchlight Frontiers business model, but we're hoping that Perfect World is willing to share more about this during the event, which takes place from August 22 through August 25, 2018.
